Roots Cafe Open 7 Days a Week
A trip to Roots is not complete until you have visited the cafe. Serving breakfast, lunch and cakes all day, a warm welcome is always on the menu! Our opening hours are here.
We are open from 9am until 4pm with last orders taken at 3.30pm.
We have a dog friendly space, The Reading Nook. But we ask that dogs are not brought into the main cafe. The Nook isperfect to relax with a coffee and a cake. See The Reading Nook here.

Roots Breakfast
Served 9am – 12 noon
Our breakfasts are legendary! Choose from the full farmhouse, or try a breakfast wrap. We serve traditional breakfast or lighter bites, you will not be disappointed.
We offer several vegetarian options. For the smaller appetite choose from delicious options such as mushrooms or eggs on sourdough bread.
All the meat comes from our own butchers and is fully free range.
Cakes and Bakes
Ready for cake? Whatever time of the day it is, it’s cake o’clock at Roots!
We have a delicious and freshly baked range for you to choose from, including: orange and blueberry tart, toffee and apple tart, school cake with pink custard and treacle tart.
Do you love a scone? We bake our scones daily with a choice of sweet and savoury
Roots Lunch
Served 12noon – 3pm
Lunch is served from 12noon until 3pm. Choose from our regular menu with delights such as our famous steak sandwich, our very own sconewich which is a loaded home baked savoury scone.
Choose from soup of the day, sandwiches on a sub or granary bread, salads and we have a special menu designed to appeal to children.
Or make your choice from our specials board which changes daily.
Coffee
Artisan coffee
We take our coffee very seriously and are so fortunate to have Rountons Coffee, artisan coffee roaster based here, in East Rounton.
All of our coffees are double shots. Simply let us know when you order if you prefer a weaker coffee.
Rountons coffee is sourced from farms that value sustainable farming methods. We stock it in our Farm Shop.
