Heat the Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and reduce the heat to low. Cook and stir about 10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, or until the garlic starts to release an aroma.

Add the beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and increase the heat to medium. Season with salt and pepper. Add chopped chilli (fresh or previously frozen in an ice cube) chili powder, cumin, red pepper flakes, and basil, and cook and stir until the beef is thoroughly browned.

Stir in the Mutti Pomodoro tomatoes, tomato puree and bring to a low boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, until the chili reduces slightly and thickens. Drain and add the chickpeas and continue to simmer for about 15 minutes longer. Serve warm.
