We are passionate about bringing you the best meat in Roots traditional butchery. The grass-fed beef is raised here at Home Farm, East Rounton. The pork comes from Happy Trotters, and is fully traceable having lived secure, stress-free lives on their farm.

Free Range
100% traceability is paramount to us and provides you with supreme quality AND piece of mind.

Beef
90% of the beef available from our butcher has been grass fed on Home Farm here at East Rounton.

Pork
We sell fully free range pork reared by passionate farmers locally on a Yorkshire farm.

Roots Butchers
Complete traceability in all of our meat produce is paramount, delivering supreme quality, taste and peace of mind for our customers.
Our beef is hung for a minimum of 21 days to allow tenderness and succulent flavour. It is aged alongside Himalayan Rock Salt which not only draws out the moisture but tenderises the beef.
90% of our Beef is off our own farm are are grass fed only brought indoors for finishing.
100% of our pork is free range and comes from Anna’s Happy Trotters at Howden, Yorkshire.
All other meat products are sourced locally including chicken, veal and in season game.

Oven Ready Meat
We offer a range of oven ready meat dishes, all you have to do is pop them in the oven.
Perfect for quick suppers or lunch.
Our butchers love to talk! They are more than happy to explain how to cook each cut to perfection. And if you are not sure, they are happy to guide you in your choice.

One of the main reasons we started Roots is that we wanted to connect consumers with sustainable farming.
It is very important to us; we rear contented and healthy animals and check the same standards are in place at the farms we buy from.
